Shelter Dogs
In your search for a new family member, have you checked your area shelters? We find that many people do not. There are several reasons people don't adopt from shelters, or even consider looking there. Yes, they can be depressing, noisy, smelly. The dogs may be dirty and unkempt. Quite often people firmly believe that the shelters are full of mixed breed dogs, and you cannot find a purebred.
Most of these animals are diamonds in the rough. Just look and see what we found there:
Aylen, frightened, sick, dirty and smelly, was certainly no one's idea of the perfect family pet. But with just a bath, vet care, patience, food and love, here is what she looked like less than two weeks later:
While we would be happy to place one of our rescued babies in your home, they are safe with us. Please look at the dogs available from area shelters. You may need some assistance from shelter staff, and they will be only too happy to help. More than 50% of the animals in the shelter don't make it out alive, simply because of a lack of space and time. Like Aylen, many wonderful dogs get sick from stress and airborn illnesses and are euthanized before they have a chance to show how great they are.
If you think you might be interested in a Rottweiler from an Austin area shelter, contact us. We will be happy to meet you and assist you in evaluating the dog.
It could be the difference between life and death.
