Applicants must be at least 25 years of age, living in the central Texas area, and provide 3 personal references who are not family members and a vet reference.  After completing a placement application, you will be contacted by a representative of KPRR for additional information regarding your home and family environment in order to make the best possible match between you and your new companion.

We are happy to arrange a meet and greet for you and the selected dog(s), after a  completed application is received.

After references have been verified, we will arrange an informal home visit where all family members must be present.  You will be notified within 24 hours if you have been approved.  Approved adopters will sign a legally binding contract agreeing to certain requirements of care for the Rottweiler.

Bringing a new dog into your home and your life is a very important decision and one that carries with it a lifetime commitment.  Selecting a dog is not like picking up a loaf of bread off the grocery shelf.  If you are hoping to come by and get the dog today or tomorrow, it simply isn't going to happen.  Most applications are completed in 1 week.

We will do our very best to work with you to find a great new companion, but if you decide that the application process is more trouble than you want to go through, that's okay, adopting from rescue isn't for everyone.  Instead, we urge you to visit the shelters and humane societies in your area for a needy Rottweiler.  By doing so you will be saving a life that we cannot.
